Weekend Trip to Kenting, South Taiwan

This weekend I took Friday off and spend three days at the beaches of South Taiwan. You can find the photos here. The weather was perfect in Kenting. This alone was worth the trip, because in Hsinchu it was raining the whole time. Since I still got no car I had too take the train to KaoShung (4h) and then by Bus to Kenting (2.5h).
The beaches are world class, and the parks are really great for hiking. But the best was cruising around with the scooter in the hills.

Weekend, Sun, Taipei

This Sunday I have been to Taipei, together with Cyril V., a french colleague, who is working in Xian and this week here at Hsinchu to support our chip design team. It was sunny and hot, very nice compared to the last time I visited Taipei, when it was 7°C and foggy.
I put some more photos up at flickr.com and I will post a link as soon as I find out how to do this :)

Just moved into my new cubicle, so it is a little bit empty.

If you show an alien how we put ourselfs into little boxes for the most of our conscious time, they must think we are crazy.

Arrived

Arrived in Taiwan. After two short visits this will be my first longer stay here in Hsinchu. The plan is to go back end of March. Still in the hotel I hope I will find an apartment soon, so I can move in before I leave.
I will post some impressions out of my office. It is the usual cubicle setup, but it looks worse than it is. Compared to our offices in mainland Germany, you can at least work concentrated.
The weather was terrible when I arrived on Wednesday. Lots of rain, and fog. But now, perfect for the weekend, it is a sunny 20°C.
